Great Escape 2010

The 2010 NEGA Great Escape Weekend will be held August 6th - August 8th @ Camp Rainey Mountain. Great Escape is a fun-filled weekend for high school age youth. This is a great weekend for team building and annual planning. Look forward to two full days of high adventure, swimming, sailing, shooting sports, mountaineering, low COPE, kayaking, Treks, fishing, mountain biking, and much more.

CPR/AED - Wilderness First Aid Course

March 4th - March 6, 2011 @ Cleveland Hall at Scoutland

The NEGA CPR/AED - Wilderness First Aid Course certified by the Emergency Care & Safety Institute is a 19-hour class designed and geared towards leaders and older youth who provide and participate in adventures in the out-of-doors.

The emergency response training includes patient assessment, musculoskeletal and soft tissue injuries, splinting, and a variety of other topics. Providing primary care in all types of weather with non-standard equipment and coping with long term care and emergency response are major issues focused upon in widerness First Aid.

Lecture and discussion, practical exercise and outdoor scenarios help participants gain confidence, and encourage the development of critical decision making skills. icon  Click here to register (804.96 kB)

 
Venturing age/grade eligibility change

The National Executive Board recently approved a resolution to change the eligibility requirements for Venturing to ensure consistency among Venturing, High-Adventure bases, and other core programs. Effective May 1, 2010, the minimum age requirement will be changed from 14 years of age, to 13 years of age and completion of the eighth grade. The maximum age for participation remains under 21 years of age.
