Wood Badge is advanced training in leadership skills for BSA programs. Started in 1919 when Baden-Powell took Scout leaders to Gilwell Park for advanced leader training. Wood Badge come to American in 1948, and has evolved since then to become the BSA's premier leadership training event. Wood Badge teaches contemporary leadership skills in an outdoor setting. - Living the Values
Who may attend Wood Badge? To attend Wood Badge, Scouters must be registered members of the Boy Scout of America. Have not previously attended a Wood Badge Course. Have completed the basic training courses for their Scouting positions. Have completed the outdoor skills training program appropriate to their Scouting position. Be capable of functioning safely in an outdoor environment. Successful completion of the BSA Annual Health & Medical Form is required for all participants. Cost - $50 Deposit (applicable to course fee) Nonrefundable unless course is cancelled due to low registration.
- $210 Early Bird Course Fee (Due in full 3 weeks prior to the start of your course)
- $240 registration fee: this covers program & training materials, all food for the first weekend (second weekend food will be provided by participants), 1 participant t-shirt and cap, and (upon completion of training program) Wood Badge presentation kit.
- $16 additional participant t-shirts are available only through pre-order. T-shirts are available in men's sizes, medium throught XXXL.
- $14 Wood Badge mug with council name, year, wood badge logo, your name and course number.
